If you reduce your calorie intake without increasing your physical activity your body will go into panic mode and begin storing calories as fat. Your body will believe it’s starving and begin accumulating fat stores in order to survive. Worse your body will begin burning muscle first before going to its existing fat stores.
Therefore regular exercise needs to be made a part of your schedule. Muscle burns calories even while at rest. And muscle weights more that fat. So your goal needs to be fat reduction not weight reduction. As you replace fat with lean muscle your weight will take care of itself.
I’m currently reading and studying Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto. It teaches the techniques of that bodybuilders and fitness models use to get lean. Even though it’s written by a body builder, it’s not just for body builders. In fact about 3/4 of the book covers nutrition and eating. I’ll publish a complete review here when I’m done reading it.
